چکیده
Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is widely consumed vegetables like potato and tomato. Worldwide, the eggplant cultivated in all regions Turkey fourth largest eggplant-producer. It a rich source of minerals as low-calorie fruit. plays vital role having high phenolic content which enhance radical absorbing capacity. Objective this study was to evaluate effect tomato spotted wilt orthotospovirus (TSWV) on five different cultivars (Kemer, Aydın Siyahı, Halep Karası, Topan Silindirik) under greenhouse conditions. were mechanically inoculated with TSWV isolates tested by DAS-ELISA method. According visible virus-like symptoms, susceptible infection showed typical tospo-like symptoms including concentric ringspot, necrosis, chlorotic necrotic ringspot. The highest rate observed Kemer (58%) followed (52%) whereas, lowest noticed Silindirik (38%). Infection caused significant (p≤0.05) reduction fruit number (32.99-59.34%), length (17.12-49.76%), diameter (12.44-38.30%), weight (31.31-67.70%), flesh thickness (18.11-46.05%), total soluble solid (16.83-40.69%), color, firmness (4.88-29.25%) yield (50.22-84.22%) infected plants. results obtained, cultivar performed better performance against among cultivars. Whereas poor making them more sensitive TSWV. These will help breeders for development resistant varieties using these tolerant

Reaction of Peanut Cultivars to Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV) Under Field Conditions and Their Response to Mechanical Inoculation by TSWV Under Greenhouse Conditions
Spotted wilt virus disease caused by Tomato spotted wilt tospovirus (TSWV) has become a limiting factor in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) production in the Southwest region of the U.S. Selected peanut cultivars (Okrun, Southwest Runner, Tamrun-98, Tamrun-96, Georgia Green, Tamrun OL-02, Tamrun OL-01, and Georgia Hi Oleic) were evaluated for reaction to TSWV in field plots in 2001, 2002, and 2003....

Growers in Georgia first noted problems in their peppers and onions during the last week of March 1989. Thrips populations combined with further field symptoms and the verification of the disease triggered a massive insecticide spray program in Georgia. Monitor was first used in early May followed by combinations of Orthene, Cygon and Thiodan. Most fields had less than 1% infection prompting a ...
متن کاملThe molecular population genetics of the Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) genome.
RNA viruses are characterized by high genetic variability resulting in rapid adaptation to new or resistant hosts. Research for plant RNA virus genetic structure and its variability has been relatively scarce compared to abundant research done for human and animal RNA viruses. Here, we utilized a molecular population genetic framework to characterize the evolution of a highly pathogenic plant R...
